Ayrshire Philharmonic Opera Society (APOS) has been shortlisted by the Scottish Theatre Awards. This is a brand-new event that was created as a way of celebrating the finest live theatrical performers across Scotland. It is open to both professional and amateur theatre troupes. The category that APOS is in contention to win is Best Ensemble – Amateur.
It has received this recognition for its Made in Dagenham show. This tells the tale of a strike by female machinists at a Ford car factory in a dispute about pay. It was a popular 2010 film before being turned into a stage musical.
When amateur groups win prestigious awards, they often like to advertise the fact on their promotional materials. Ayr is home to Print shops that can create Promotional Products that feature such information.
According to the Ayr Advertiser, a spokesperson for APOS said:
“We are absolutely delighted to announce that APOS has been shortlisted for a Scottish Theatre Award! Our Made in Dagenham ensemble gave so much to this production, and seeing them recognised in this way is absolutely fantastic.”
This spokesperson then urged local people to cast their votes on the awards website.
The first-ever Scottish Theatre Awards ceremony will take place on 21st February 2027 at a Glasgow venue.Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products Get a Free Quote for Print
