Ayr Racecourse has proved itself to be a leader in its field, with the news that it has been awarded the highest possible Quality Assurance rating by VisitScotland.
This UK-wide tourism company honoured the course with its Five Star Visitor Attraction Award, which is only given to places that meet the very best standards across the board.
One of the Tourism and Quality Advisors from VisitScotland attended the racecourse incognito recently, to check out the overall standards of cleanliness and presentation, signage, friendliness and hospitality, car parking and visitor information.
The results will delight the owners of the racecourse, which welcomed over 100,000 visitors to its various events and horseracing fixtures, during the last year. It currently serves as the home of every major flat and jumps race in Scotland, as well as the country’s two largest racing festivals.
They will be able to turn to printers offering laminating in Ayr if they want to place certificates around the course showcasing this rating.
Ayr Racecourse’s Managing Director, David Brown, told the Ayr Advertiser that:
“This is an accolade which we’ve been hoping to win for some time and it’s a real testimony to the commitment and hard work of all of our staff to not only deliver, but consistently maintain, the very highest standards.”
Annique Armstrong from VisitScotland congratulated everyone at Ayr Racecourse and added that it was great for the town.
