Scarlett Alexander, aged 16, will be one of several young filmmakers directing, shooting and presenting their own films for the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference (COP26). The youngsters involved are between the ages of 16 and 21 and were chosen for the prestigious project by ScottishPower and the Scottish Youth Film Foundation (SYFF).
Conferences often rely on brochure printing so that they can offer leaflets outlining the order of events for each day.
Speaking to the Ayr Advertiser, Scarlett stated that the film she is working on deals with the subject of the waterways located not far from Ayr. Her film, along with those by the other youngsters taking part, will be shown during a part of the conference being called COP TV.
She then went on to say:
“I am into lots of different fashion and music and I’ve been taking an interest lately not just in media and climate but how media can be more climate and carbon conscious.”
She concluded by saying that she had a deep interest in broadcasting tech and was looking to get experience of it.
COP26 is scheduled to take place in Glasgow from October 31 to November 12.
