A brand new festival that will focus on folk and traditional tunes will be taking place in Ayr later this year and is set to provide the perfect way for music lovers to celebrate the summer.
This event has been given the punning title Fresh Ayr Folk Fest and it will be held at a number of different venues throughout the town. The line-up of artists is still to be announced by the organisers, but they are promising that it will include top class singers and bands that specialise in roots and folk music.
The music that is featured over the course of the festival will be a mix of traditional Scottish songs and folk music from other parts of the world. The Fresh Ayr Folk Fest is scheduled to be a two-day event that is held over the course of a weekend.

This festival was supposed to have debuted last year, with Rozelle Park serving as its venue, but it was delayed until 2024.
