This centre has been constructed at a cost of £8.5 million and is set to offer amenities for sporting use that can match those found anywhere else in the country. Among them will be an eight lane, 400m outdoor running track, a 60m indoor track with six lanes, an all-weather sports pitch equipped with 3G, as well as a section for field events.
Outside of the specific sports and athletic facilities, there will also be a café and changing rooms for people taking part in the different activities. The work to construct the sports centre began in the summer of 2021 and most of the key features are now in place.
