Karen Hull spent the last year teaching the P4H class at Ayr’s Doonfoot Academy and developed a strong bond with the pupils during that time. This led her to create individual memory boards for each of them, showcasing pictures of them with their friends and on their own, alongside personalised messages.
The class was made up of 19 children and the teacher devoted her free Sundays to creating the boards, telling a reporter from the Daily Record:
“I will miss them terribly. The year flies in so quickly and then it is gone. We pack so much into each term so it is good to put it together. You can’t spend lots of money but you can give them photographs and memories.”
She went on to add that creating the boards had taken a considerable amount of time, but that she wanted to give each pupil fond memories of the past year as they prepare to move into their fifth year at the school. She has made similar boards in the past.
