Local charity fundraiser proves a hit

A recent quiz event held in Ayr with the aim of raising money for a hospice proved to be a smash hit with local people, who contributed in excess of £1,900 towards the cause.

The event was organised by Clydesdale Bank and was held in the town’s Kylestrome Hotel, with over 100 people from the business community taking part to help raise funds for Ayrshire Hospice.

Mark Wilson, who runs the private banking and business centre in Ayr, for Clydesdale Bank, told the Daily Record that he was thrilled with the success of the day:

“We’re extremely proud to have raised much needed funds for the Ayrshire Hospice, which provides vital services not only for patients with life limiting illnesses but also their families and friends.”

He went on to offer his thanks to all those who had given up their time to participate in the quiz and contribute to its success.

Local charity events of this kind frequently take advantage of places that supply leaflet printing in Ayr, so that they can produce Flyers and leaflets promoting them.

The quiz featured 27 teams, each made up of four competitors, and it was the side representing William Duncan and Co – a local chartered accountancy firm – that came out as the winners.

It was organised alongside the Business Week hosted by Yorkshire and Clydesdale Banks’, which took place between 9th-13th of November.
