Leisure centre in Ayr to be redeveloped

The main leisure centre in Ayr appears set to undergo a major redevelopment, with the confirmation that the local council has given its approval to these Plans.

Alliance Leisure is the company that is heading up the plans for the Citadel Leisure Centre, which is located on Ayr Harbour. This facility draws around 300,000 customers every year, but the developer feels that it needs to be upgraded for the modern era.

Its plans include both repair works to the existing building and amenities, and the addition of a number of brand-new attractions.

A gymnasium, family active hub, party rooms, spa, cafe and studios would all be added. There would also be a new room for first aid, as well as revamped kitchen areas, reception and entrance. The total cost of the project is expected to be £10 million.

Facilities such as leisure centres often make use of brochure printing outlets in the local area. These enable them to provide colourful Brochures that detail the various amenities on offer for visitors.

The contractor that will be in charge of the redevelopment of the Citadel Leisure Centre is Robertson Construction Central West. The designs for it have been created by Holmes Miller.

Originally, the centre was simply a swimming pool called Ayr Baths. The other facilities were added during the 1990s, when it was renamed.
