A hospice in Ayr is set to carry out a sizeable expansion of its facilities, after the local council gave its Plans the green light towards the end of last year.
The Ayrshire Hospice currently consists of two buildings, both of which were built around 200 years ago and hold listed status. Its expansion plans will see it take over a house situated next door, as well as creating new routes for people to get access to it and more spaces for parking vehicles.
The statement the hospice submitted to the council says that the expansion of its facilities will benefit people living in Ayr and the wider region, by improving the quality of the palliative care it is able to offer to those using it.

The work to be carried out at the hospice will include replacing the current facility for in-patients with a new single storey one at the back and side of the main buildings.
