HMV store in Ayr to reopen

The decision has been made to reopen the HMV store in Ayr, which will mean that a significant number of jobs at the outlet will also be saved.

The HMV music chain underwent a takeover earlier in the year and a number of its shops around the country were shut down in the aftermath of this. However, there have since been discussions about saving some of the stores and it has been confirmed that the branch in Ayr will be the 10th to avoid the axe.

The store is situated within Ayr Central Shopping Centre and shops like this often rely on banner printing services to provide them with Banners and other materials for their windows advertising the latest offers.

According to the Ayr Advertiser, an HMV spokesperson stated:

“We are very pleased to confirm that HMV Ayr will reopen. This is the best outcome for our staff and customers and we are delighted to share the good news with all those who have been so supportive over the past weeks.”

The announcement is good news for the local economy, as the company has said that everyone who was employed within the shop before it shut its doors will get to keep their jobs. The spokesperson added that there had been considerable demand locally for it to open again.
