There are a number of vacant buildings that could help businesses to flourish in Ayr, according to South Ayrshire Council.
Several commercial properties in the region are sitting dormant at the moment, when they could be providing real benefits for the local economy. One such building, Holmston House, is one of the most attractive structures in the area but has remained vacant for over two years. South Ayrshire Council's head of corporate resources, Donald Gillies, said, however, there had been no formal offers put forward in that time.
It is estimated that the building could command rental rates of over £150,000 per year and is on the buying market with a guide price of £2 million. It comes with 3.37 acres of land and was originally expected to be snatched as an opportunity for property developers, but this has not been the case.
Businesses across the UK have been in need of a boost over recent years, with challenging economic times and recessions taking their toll on the economy.
