Dean Burnett has committed to spending 24 hours blasting out tunes for the fundraiser, which is in aid of the residents’ fund for Carrick House. Burnett works at this home as a care assistant alongside his DJ exploits and told the Daily Record that he had been trying to come up with an unusual way of fundraising on behalf of it.
The venue for his session will be popular Ayr club, Arthur Street Kitchen and he will be doing the entire thing with no breaks. Flyer printing is sometimes used as a way of spreading the word about charity events. Burnett went on to say:
“I saw that Armin Van Buuren once did a 14 hour DJ set and it gave me the idea for this. It’s not going to be easy - I imagine it will be pretty lonely at points but I’ll push through!”
He will be starting off with a set of easy listening music that will begin at 12pm on the day. He will then pick up the pace as darkness falls, with dance tunes for revellers at night, before carrying on alone when they leave.
The fundraiser is set to take place on 24th November.
