One of the world’s most well-known and critically acclaimed classical musicians is set to return to her roots with a live concert in Ayrshire next month.
Nicola Benedetti, a violinist from Ayr, will be performing a concert at Ayr Town Hall, one of the first venues she ever played at as a girl. Nicola, now aged 25, has gone on to become a world-famous musician after learning to play the violin aged just eight years old.
Nicola became the leader of the National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain and then went on to be awarded an MBE by the Queen earlier this year in the New Year Honours list. Nicola spoke about her homecoming concert, saying:
“I’m so excited to be back visiting Ayr. Having gone to school there and performed as a child in Ayr Town Hall it’s always a deeply moving experience for me to play there. The Silver Violin Tour is going to be something different for new audiences and classical fans alike – the concerts are more interactive with the use of film and the opportunity for dialogue between the audience and myself.”
Concerts like this one are often promoted using poster and flyer printing. Ayr Town Hall is currently selling tickets for the event via its box office and the Ayrshire Post is running a competition to offer people the chance to win tickets to the concert.
