The Food Van that plays such a key role in the series was also there, and chef Nairn took time during his stint in the town to purchase ingredients from Ayr’s vegetable and fruit stalls.
The cooking challenge he had been set required him to locate cheese, beetroot and fresh langoustine from shops in the centre of town, with presenter Vipond on hand to assist him with this task.
After all of the necessary ingredients had been found, the duo took to the Food Van to concoct a series of dishes, before returning to the streets so that local people could sample them.
Alongside its appearance in this part of the show, Ayr is also set to be included in the Triumph Bonneville journey through Scotland undertaken by Vipond for the programme.
Speaking to a reporter from the Daily Record, Vipond stated that:
“I hope people enjoy the beautiful landscape as much as I did on the journey.”
