A group of business leaders from the town have joined together as a taskforce to tackle the issue of town centre footfall, and they have come up with a number of one-off activities to attract shoppers, from now until 25th December.
The events put together by the Town Centre Management Group will include face painting for children, street theatre and fairground attractions, as well as the Christmas Truck created by Coca-Cola.
Those involved with the group include restaurants, independent retail businesses, the Gaiety Theatre, Police Scotland and Ayr Central, and they will be able to use flyer printing in Ayr to help them promote the upcoming fun to residents.
Peter Clark, the boss of Ayr Central, is the chairman of the group and he told the Daily Record:
“I am passionate about improving Ayr. It is already a great town, but it has so much potential to be better.
“I am delighted that so many different businesses and organisations are willing to work together in a positive way to achieve this.”
These Christmas activities represent the beginning of longer-term ambitious Plans to bring more customers into Ayr town centre. Further information is available at Ayr Central, from Peter Clark.Get a Free Quote for Plans
