Business near Ayr to launch charity partnership

A company based just outside Ayr will be launching a charity partnership later this year that is intended to help hospitality workers.

Buzzworks Holdings is behind a number of successful restaurants and bars and it is joining forces with sector charity Hospitality Action for the scheme. This charity provides grants to assist workers struggling with debt, counselling sessions to help them overcome addiction and stress, and also runs an advice hotline that is available 24 hours a day.

Now Buzzworks is hoping to fundraise £20,000 this year that can be donated to the charity and various people who work for it will be taking part in charitable activities between now and the deadline to help ensure it reaches that target. Poster printing is sometimes used to help raise awareness of the work conducted by local charities.

Staff members from Buzzworks have already donated £1,250 towards the target amount, with the deadline for raising funds being November 2020. Speaking to the Ayr Advertiser, Kenny Blair from Buzzworks said:

“Employee training and wellbeing is a core principle for Buzzworks and by subscribing to Hospitality Action and pledging to raise funds, it’s our way of giving back to our teams.”

He went on to add that the company wanted to provide the hospitality industry with a more positive image for young people considering entering it.
