The council is now launching an official public consultation into these Plans, which would see the two courts built in the grounds of Kyle Academy in Ayr. It has indicated that planning permission is not actually needed to be able to go ahead with the building of them, but that it wants to find out what people in the town think about the idea before moving forward.
It is part of the local authority’s idea of making Kyle Academy the region’s volleyball centre. Stationery printers that are based in the same area are often essential for local schools, as they can supply the printed teaching materials required for the various classes.
According to the Daily Record, the council has stated that:
“These courts are being developed in collaboration with Scottish Volleyball and this is an exciting opportunity to provide championship standard courts within South Ayrshire.”
The consultation documents submitted by the council point out that the planned courts would not feature floodlighting facilities, making them suitable for daytime use only.
They also indicate that, if the plans meet with the approval of local people, the courts should be ready for use by the spring of 2022.
