This event is described as being where ‘Burns meets Halloween’, with the aim being to combine classic Halloween chills with a distinct Caledonian twist. It is an annual event in Ayr but has been restricted to an online-only one for the past couple of years because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, it will be returning to the streets and venues of Ayr.
The organisers are promising the best Tamfest yet, and poster printing by shops in Ayr can be a huge help in promoting local events like this in order to ensure a good turnout. The main part of the festival will see a talent and creative zone set up in the centre of town offering face painting, puppetry classes and magic shows.
Darker delights can be found on the ghost hunting trails and within the haunted houses, while live Scottish music can be heard across three separate stages. Speaking to the Daily Record, Councillor Alec Clark said he was thrilled to see Tamfest returning as a live festival, adding:
“It is a key annual event which I know many residents and visitors will be looking forward to, following the virtual events of the last few years.”
Tamfest runs throughout October.
