This festival will be called Fresh Ayr and the hope is that it can become an annual summer event. It will be focused on traditional folk music, but will also have other Forms of live entertainment, as well as activities suitable for families, stalls selling drinks and food and a campsite with top class amenities.
The location for the festival will be Rozelle Park in Ayr and the line-up will feature over 25 performers with global reputations. Already, the Scots folk band Manran have been confirmed as the headliners for the Saturday.
Other acts that have been named as performers so far include Blazin’ Fiddles – who will close out the event – and the innovative violin, guitar and concertina band Talisk.
Fresh Ayr will be a three-day festival and flyer printing from shops in Ayr is one option that the organisers could use to promote it.
The festival’s director, Blair Parham, told the Daily Record:
“I am so excited to bring the first ever weekend folk festival to the heart of our town. It’s something that I have aspired to do for a long time.”
Fresh Ayr will run between 11th and 13th August 2023.
