A hugely popular stage show that features young men from Ayrshire who appeared on television talent shows is set to have its final performances next year, at a theatre in the town.
‘The Ayrshire Lads’ tells the true story of all five and features performances by them. During the past 20 years, Ayrshire has seen Blair Gilmour rise to fame through The Voice Kids, Jeremy Levif achieve the same feat on The Voice, Jai McDowall win Britain’s Got Talent and the MacDonald Brothers star on the X Factor.
The show was put together by Edd Holloway, a theatrical producer, to highlight the story of each of them. It has proven to be a smash hit with audiences since the first performance in 2021, but now the decision has been made to bring it to an end.
Fittingly, the venue for the final performances will be the Gaiety Theatre in Ayr, where it has enjoyed a long sold out run.

Brian MacDonald stated that they were making next year’s shows the last ones because the commitments of each of the five made getting together more and more difficult.
They will take place in February 2024.
