Ayr is set to come into full bloom later in the month, with the launch of the annual Ayr and District Flower Show.
This event is one of the high points of the year for local flower lovers, but it is not only aimed at those with a passion for posies or relish for roses. Alongside the many stands filled with beautiful blooms, the show also offers visitors a range of other items they can browse. These include clothes, art and jewellery.
The venue for this year’s show is Ayr Racecourse and it will run for two days. There will be roughly 70 different stalls with flowers and other products available to buy, ensuring that most tastes are catered for.
It is not only adults that will find pleasure at this event though, as the presence of models made of LEGO and Meccano, as well as model trains, will keep the kids happy. Another highlight will be the charity raffle, Q & A session and ‘little seedling’ activities that Dobbies will be providing.
Elsewhere, local firm Stewart Travel has donated a voucher worth £250 that anyone who buys one of the event programmes has a shot at winning. Brochure printing services are often called on to produce programmes for events like this.
The Ayr and District Flower Show will take place on August 16th and 17th.
