Belleisle Park, which is in Doonfoot Road, has been awarded £60,000 from the overall fund of £2.4 million. This will enable South Ayrshire Council to begin work on a multigenerational play section, which is set to cost £200,000 in total.
The park is already a significant attraction for both visitors and residents, but the new play area should increase this appeal still further. Once the work is complete, the council will be able to depend on Ayr Print shops to provide the flyer printing needed to let people know it is ready to use.
South Ayrshire Council’s Economy, Environment and Neighbourhood Executive Director, Lesley Bloomer, told the local press about the ways that the money will help the park:
“This funding will help us to create a new multigenerational play and activity area within Belleisle Park, to make fun physical activity more accessible to everyone.”
The Belleisle Park play area is not the only project in Ayr to benefit from this batch of funding, as St. John’s Primary School in the town received nearly £40,000 to provide quality fitness equipment and a netball court in its playground, as one of the 45 projects being supported.Get a Free Quote for Print
