A building in Ayr that used to be home to an ice cream parlour is set to be turned into offices, after South Ayrshire Council opted to give the nod to the proposals.
This building is situated on New Road and was formerly occupied by Filippo’s Bistro and the Royal Cafe. It is currently lying empty, but will be given a new lease of life as an office block. The developer behind these Plans submitted them to the council at the start of the year, and has now secured permission to change the use of the building.
The process will involve some fairly major structural alterations. The part of the building that housed the cafe will be converted into three offices that are connected to each other. Among other things, it will mean extending this section of the building.
Further office spaces will be created out of the area close to the front door that was previously used as a waiting room. When companies move into offices in the town, they sometimes look to Ayr shops that supply printed Business Cards as these can be used for making connections.
Another change to be made as part of the conversion of this building is to extend its rear. The additional space will be utilised as accommodation for staff.
