The developer behind it is Ayrshire Housing, and the architects Page/Park came up with the design for the development. The chosen site for it is at the Citadel, and when it is finished, it will be made up of 40 flats. Page/Park devised its unusual idea for the look of the blocks based on the Citadel’s lookout tower, and the new flats are set to replace it at the edge of Ayr harbour.
Of the 40 flats that make up the project, 13 will be two-bedroom accommodations, with the remaining 27 set to have one bedroom. The separate blocks have been designed with lookout towers that will face the sea.
Brochure printing shops in the town are sometimes used by housing developers to provide them with glossy Brochures showing off their latest homes to potential buyers or tenants.
Speaking to Scottish Housing News, Jim Whiston from Ayrshire Housing said:
“The current project is one of a number that we are developing in and around Ayr’s town centre. We are delighted that they feature as priorities in the council’s SHIP – the Strategic Housing Investment Plan.”
Work is due to start by mid-2021.
