This project will see the pavements and the road re-covered bit by bit, and it is set to start by recoating the section of the street close to the branch of Marks and Spencer. A decision has not yet been made on what materials will be used for the work, but one possibility that the local council is weighing up is to use a new option that is easy to clean.
A spokesperson for the council told the Daily Record that the local authority was eager to revive the town centre and resurfacing its streets and pavements was a big part of that, before going on to add:
“The Riverside Redevelopment project is due to start on site later this year and the streetscape scheme to the High Street will follow on a phased approach over the next few years.”
