Plans for the building of a factory at a site in Ayr have received the go ahead from the local council, with new jobs set to be created as a result.
Punjab Pakora submitted an application to South Ayrshire Council to construct this factory at the Heathfield Industrial Estate. The company, which is based in Crown Street, Ayr, makes its hugely popular pakoras from there at the moment. These Indian fritters are then sent to many big supermarkets, such as Iceland, Sainsburys and Aldi, where they have been a big hit with customers.
The company is a family one, owned and managed by Kushal and Vinita Duggal, alongside their children. It has 42 people working for it right now, but when the new factory is ready to open that number would double in size.

Punjab Pakora has been a fixture in Ayr for a decade and it hopes to build a factory that would have a pitched roof and production facilities to the back. The staff areas and reception would be located at the front of the building.
Work will now be able to get started, but an actual start date is still to be announced.
