The council has joined forces with a company called theSKYLAB on this project, with the aim of coming up with a replacement for a very popular air show that used to take place in the town. It has been indicated that the proposed show would be something different and that it would be part of a wider events programme to cover the whole of next year.
Now these Plans are set to be discussed at a meeting of the Cabinet for South Ayrshire Council, which is likely to take place before the end of the year. If they are given the go-ahead, poster printing provided by shops in Ayr is one strategy that the council could use to help advertise the new air show.
Speaking to the Ayr Advertiser, Alec Clark from the council stated that:
“The prospect of bringing a brand new air show to South Ayrshire in 2023 is extremely exciting. It would be a fantastic addition to our portfolio of events for 2023.”
He added that it would also be an effective way of increasing tourist numbers.
At the moment, it is expected that this air show would be held during the autumn.
