Ayr car wash plans get the green light

Ayr will be getting a brand-new facility for washing cars, with the confirmation that South Ayrshire Council gave the green light to the proposals at a recent meeting.

The developer who submitted the Plans for this facility is TDR Group Holdings Ltd. It wishes to build the car wash on a stretch of vacant land at Whitletts Road, Ayr. The site in question is located alongside a number of shops, but it has been disused for 16 years. The application was to change its use, and it will now be brought back to life.

Once it has been completed, the car wash will consist of six valet bays that are covered by a canopy. There will also be fencing erected around the facility and a container provided for storage purposes.

Promotional Products created by shops in Ayr that can be given away to the general public are one of the options available for new local businesses when they need to advertise.

The fencing that will be put up as part of this project is set to be 2.4 metres in height. It will be erected at the boundary to the rear of the car wash and along some of its side boundaries.

There were some public concerns raised about the plans, but the council argued that the site had always been in commercial use. A date for the build has yet to be confirmed.
