The annual Showcase & Awards represents the most prestigious prize event for racecourses in the UK and honours courses that offer the finest experience for customers. The event’s partners are Great British Racing, the Racing Post and Moet Hennessy.
Ayr Racecourse has made it into the final stages of the 2019 event after being nominated by the Racehorse Owners Association (ROA) and the Racecourse Association (RCA).
The venue for this year’s ceremony will be Hamilton Park Racecourse and Ayr is going to be up against some stiff competition in its category, with Newbury, Musselburgh, Haydock Park and Bangor-on-Dee also in the running.
ROA members make their decisions on the nominations based on their own personal experiences at various courses, looking for those that go above and beyond the usual for their customers. Racecourses sometimes give away Promotional Products to encourage more people to visit them in the future.
Speaking to a reporter from the Ayr Advertiser, Ayr Racecourse Managing Director, David Brown, stated:
