The Shining Star Memory Walk is an annual event held to raise cash for the Ayrshire Hospice. It is a night-time event and, this year, those taking part will begin and end their journeys at Ayr’s Citadel Leisure Centre. In total, participants will have a choice of three different walks, which will take in prominent landmarks like Somerset Park, the Millennium Bridge, Wellington Square and Burns Cottage.
This year’s event will also see them pass along Racecourse Road for the first ever time, which is the location of the hospice it is in aid of. Giveaway Promotional Products from shops in Ayr are often seen as a very good way for charity events of this kind to be advertised ahead of time.
Speaking to the Ayr Advertiser, the senior fundraiser for the hospice, Caroline Lyon, said that everyone was looking forward to the 2023 walk. She then added:
“We welcome individuals, families and teams of friends or colleagues and every penny raised ensures exceptional care for our patients and their loved ones.”
