Waitrose to open within Tunbridge Wells

A small Waitrose is opening in Tunbridge Wells this week.

The Little Waitrose outlet will share a location with a petrol station. Letterheads from Tunbridge Wells can be useful for new ventures in the area. The development of the site started back in January.

The Waitrose store is scheduled to open its doors on Friday 17th August. It is reported that local people are pleased at the prospect of an addition to the retail offer of the town. Demand for a Waitrose was apparently evident three years ago.

The official opening may attract residents to St Johns Road. Mayor Len Horwood will preside over the event and a ribbon will be cut. A free hessian bag featuring the Waitrose brand will be gifted to the first customers who make purchases from the shop. Ed Hall, a manager for Shell Retail, told Kent Online:

“We’re pleased to announce the re-opening of Shell St Johns. Working with Waitrose, we are bringing an updated and expanded store to our customers in Tunbridge Wells.”

Hall pointed out that there will be an abundance of choice for consumers following the move. Snacks, coffees and groceries can be tempting for people who are visiting a service station.

The Waitrose brand has got a significant presence within Kent. The chain can be accessed at settlements such as Canterbury, Ramsgate, Ashford, Maidstone, and Gillingham.
