A multi-day festival dedicated to the printed word is taking place Tunbridge Wells this year.
Tunbridge Wells residents with a passion for poetry and prose can look forwards to this springtime event taking place in town. Entitled “The Tunbridge Wells Literary Festival”, the celebration will run for 10 days in a row with highlights held in various venues.
Festival planners sometimes work with brochure printing services to create helpful guidebooks for attendees that provide an itinerary of events detailing times and venues.
Those joining the upcoming festivities will find entertaining sessions led by big names like Davina McCall, Donna Ashworth, Mike Martin MP, poet Brian Bilston and British broadcaster and author Iain Dale.
During the wider festival, an event called the “Family Festival” has been designed for all ages and accessibilities and will celebrate a century of Winnie The Pooh. Much-loved wordsmith, Gyles Brandreth, will be leading the tribute to the character described by author AA Milne as a “bear of very little brain”. Brandreth has penned a brand-new biography on Milne that draws on his friendship with the author’s son, who was the true Christopher Robin of the Books.
The Tunbridge Wells Literary Festival 2026 starts on Friday, May 1 and runs until Sunday, May 10. Events will run at several local venues in Tunbridge Wells including the Trinity Theatre on Church Road, Calverley Grounds at Mountfield Gardens and the Assembly Hall Theatre on Crescent Road.Get a Free Quote for Books
