What's Happening in Tunbridge Wells, England…

Tunbridge Wells to present childrens classic

A production based on a beloved children’s story will soon be performed on stage at a Tunbridge Wells theatre.

Those planning a winter trip to the theatre in Tunbridge Wells will have the chance to see a play adapted from the award-winning children’s literature of writer Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler.

The Gruffalo’s Child will be live on stage at the Assembly Hall Theatre, and is produced by the theatre company Tall Stories.

Representatives of touring players often provide branded business cards to their clients that feature their contact details and company emblem.

The story is a follow up to the wildly successful “The Gruffalo”, and tells the tale of the Gruffalo’s daughter setting out on a winter adventure, despite warnings from her father about the “Big Bad Mouse”.

Out in a deep dark wood, she follows different sets of footprints in the snow and encounters many mysterious creatures, but keeps going to find out if the Big Bad Mouse exists.

Designed to offer family fun to theatregoers young and old, the production is packed with humour and songs. Enjoying a warm reception from critics, the Scotsman described it as perfect entertainment for children.

The Gruffalo’s Child production will be on stage at the Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall Theatre on Saturday, January 20 and Sunday, January 21. The playhouse can be found on Crescent Road.
