Tunbridge Wells to hear hip hop music from US
A venerable hip hop act will appear at a respected events venue in Tunbridge Wells this summer.
Hip hop devotees living in Tunbridge Wells will soon get a chance to see The Sugarhill Gang live on stage. The summertime show taking place at The Forum, one of the area’s most revered venues, will see the celebrated act perform a setlist full of classic tracks from their extensive career that started back in 1979. The musical trio will have support on the night from rap all-stars The Furious Five.
Record companies and the bands they represent often employ graphic design services to create a wide range of printed advertising materials to promote the tours they undertake.
From Englewood, New Jersey in the US, The Sugarhill Gang rose to prominence after their track “Rapper’s Delight” became a hit. Released in the same year the band was founded, the single was the first rap song to enter the Billboard Top 100 and the American Top 40.
After success in the US and Europe in the ‘80s, the band went their separate ways before reforming in 1995, and in 2016 embarked on a world tour.
The Sugarhill Gang will play a live set at The Forum on Thursday, August 28. The gig will get started at 7 pm and the music venue is situated on The Common in Tunbridge Wells.
