Tunbridge Wells choir releases track for charity

A choir in Tunbridge Wells has recorded and released a charity single.

Choir members employed by Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust have recently recorded their own version of ‘You’re the Voice’ by Australian singer songwriter John Farnham, and released it as a single for charity.

The 14 choir members behind the recording have given the song a new name for their unique version, entitling it ‘You’ve Been Great’, in gratitude to the local community who have supported key workers throughout the pandemic.

The endeavour was granted full approval from two publishers, a record label and artist allowing the proceeds from every single sold to be gifted to the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust’s Charitable Fund. Charities and non-profit organisations can sometimes use brochure printing services to create professional literature that raises public awareness for their campaigns.

The charity track is now available for members of the public to download and will assist in supporting staff, carers, and patients at the Trust’s hospitals.

Chorister Rachael Vass, commented:

“We could never have imagined that our choir’s song would be made available for download. We really hope the public gets behind us by downloading it so we can raise as much money as possible for the Trust’s charity.”

The song was adapted by choir member Sara Oakley with support from SingingNation community Choir.
