Local festival expected to be best yet
Music fans in Tunbridge Wells will be looking forward to the town’s annual Local and Live Festival, which takes place in venues all across town over the course of the bank holiday weekend.
It is believed that the free four-day event will attract around 20,000 people to enjoy a series of entertaining acts at a variety of locations, including The Grey Lady Music Lounge, The Forum, and Calverley Grounds.
The event organiser, Paul Dunton – a live music promoter from Tunbridge Wells – has said:
More than 320 acts from a mixture of genres will be playing across nine venues throughout the town, including rock, folk and blues.
The festival is designed to support local musicians, with Dunton explaining:
As a result of a good promotional campaign with flyer printing and banner printing at its core, the event is tipped to be one of the most successful to date.
Local and Live kicks off on Friday, 22nd August, with the first sets being played from 7.30pm at The Forum. There will be two full days of events, with the festival concluding on Monday, 25th August.

“Local and Live has been growing, and this year will be a big jump in terms of the size of the festival, with a larger fringe event.”

“The idea is to support original song writing and independent music in and around Tunbridge Wells. We want to give artists the opportunity to play their own music in their home town.”
