Kent firm makes significant investment
An engineering solutions company based in Kent has invested in new equipment.
Based in Tunbridge Wells, Muffett Gears’ history in the town dates back 100 years, but today it manufactures world-class engineering solutions like precision gears, along with their related parts.

Operating out of a high-tech site in Tunbridge Wells that covers 3,500 square metres, the firm has now made a new investment in a piece of cutting-edge equipment – a Crysta-Apex S9106 CNC Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). The device was bought off Mitutoyo UK and continues the company’s policy of keep its operations current, with the latest technological advances employed.
The new equipment will offer Muffett Gears a new level of precision for manufacturing bespoke machine parts at its facility. This is not the only change the firm has planned for 2021, however. Mark Jagelman, Director at Muffett Gears, commented to Production Engineering Solutions that:
This year, in line with its expanding and diverse activities, the company will alter its trading name accordingly to Muffett Engineering Solutions.
