Telford could get new wine bar

Plans have been submitted to Telford & Wrekin Council to create a new wine bar at an empty building in the town.

James Williamson wants to launch this wine bar at a building called The Old Stables, which is situated on High Street. Up until fairly recently, this building was occupied by a salon that offered dog grooming services, but this company relocated earlier this year. It is located within the Ironbridge area of Telford that is considered to be among the most historic parts of the town.

According to Telford Live, the application is a change-of-use one. It says:
“Our intention is to run a small wine bar, something that the Gorge does not currently have, something that will help showcase the local vineyards’ offerings.”

It goes on to state that there will be few effects on the local area because there will not be enough space within the bar to hold a lot of people.

When it comes to promoting new food and drink outlets in Telford, Posters are a common method. The town is home to poster printing shops that can supply them.

Should the application for this wine bar get the nod from council planners, it will be open between 11am and 11pm. There will be two part-time members of staff and one full-time employee.

A public consultation will be conducted before a decision is made.
