Swindons STEAM gearing up for Christmas extravaganza

There may be no better place to get into the festive spirit than the Christmas extravaganza coming to STEAM this December.

Swindon’s steam railway museum will play host to over 50 market stalls, turning the complex into a winter wonderland.

Organisers expect the event to be a hit with both grown-ups and kids, and the breadth of products on sale means there are plenty of opportunities to pick up presents for family and friends over the weekend.

Among the specially curated line-up of stalls will be photographic prints, hand-crafted jewellery, artworks, decorations for your Christmas tree, traditional games, confectionary, toys and chutneys.

Poster printing is one way for organisers to draw attention to upcoming festive events such as this.

Aside from the Christmas goods on sale, there will also be the engaging displays and iconic trains of the Great Western Railway (GWC) that have made STEAM a must-visit. The museum tells stories of the people who built, ran, and travelled on the GWC, bringing to life a network that raised the bar for rail travel.

From rare archive footage to interactive displays and memorabilia, STEAM is a haven for train enthusiasts, but also a chance for kids to fall in love with locomotives.

Last but not least, Santa himself will be paying a visit to read some stories for children.

Tickets for the event, which takes place from Saturday 2nd to Sunday 3rd December, are now available online.
