Mortimer was acting chair of Swindon’s LEP following the departure of Barry Dennington several months ago. However, he is now in charge of the LEP permanently and could require luxury Business Cards from Swindon to reflect his status.
Mortimer wants to prioritise local growth and investment going forward and told Swindon Business News:
“We will continue working with our partners in Swindon Borough and Wiltshire Councils to help create the environment in which responsible businesses can thrive.”
Mortimer has a record of championing enterprises with rural connections. He has worked as an engineer in the mining sector. His vision is based on championing SMEs in the area. Nevertheless, he has an appreciation of the positive impact of large businesses in the vicinity. As a result, he hopes to look after the needs of these corporations too.
The LEP currently manages initiatives worth almost £150 million and major transport projects and land schemes use a large proportion of this money. It has been reported that the LEP may soon receive extra funds as a consequence of recent intervention by central government. This is because the partnerships across the region as a whole should be obtaining nearly £200 million in additional resources as a direct result of the Autumn Statement.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
