In the wake of last year's sell-out shows, the professional group is returning for its seasonal UK tour. On this occasion, the dancers are from the Mariisky State Ballet Theatre located in Central Russia.
Swan Lake tells the story of, Odille and Odette, young women who bear such a striking resemblance that they could readily be mistaken for one another. It runs the full gamut of emotions – from terror to hope, from ecstasy to melancholia.
This is a full ballet production on tour that features a live orchestra consisting of 30 or more musicians with the score by Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky. According to The Central Fife Times:
"This was an absolute sumptuous ballet with the most gorgeous sets and costumes I have seen in years."
Amande Concerts is behind this presentation from the RSBOH, which was formed in order to deliver high-quality art, and which performs 200 plus classical shows each year. It aims to produce shows that appeal to a broad range of people, both novices and devotees alike.
Tickets cost between £36 and £46 with advanced booking. Graphic design plays an important role in the creation of stage and theatrical productions like this.
Swan Lake has a starting time of 7:30pm on Sunday, November 14 at The Wyvern Theatre, Swindon.
