Swindon to celebrate St. George

The Mayor's Charities St. George's Day Kenwood Concert is due to be held in Swindon towards the end of April.

This high-class formal charity event provides a unique opportunity to celebrate England's patron saint in the company of the Mayor and Mayoress, all in aid of good causes personally chosen by the first citizen himself, Councillor Kevin Parry.

St. George Day celebrations have been somewhat subdued in the past with much of the limelight being taken by those surrounding St. Patrick. But in more recent times, things have begun to change. Taking part in this live concert are Kentwood Show Choir and Holmes Music. The range of musical material has been specially selected to be in keeping with the patriotic nature of the occasion.

There will also be a fully licenced bar at the venue and this year's charities, nominated by the Mayor, include CALM (The Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Movement) and the Swindon and North Wiltshire Deaf Children's Society.

Tickets cost £10 plus a booking fee and there will also be a retiring charities collection. The use of brochure printing can significantly improve the presentation of events of national and cultural importance such as this.

The Mayor's Charities St. George's Day Kenwood Concert will take place between 6:45pm and 9pm on Thursday 23rd April at the Deanery CE Academy in Swindon.

This event was still scheduled to take place at the time of writing.
