The Swindon Independent Film Festival, organised by Bald n Hairy Films, is due to be held in the town this summer.
This is the fourth year of the festival, which was founded at The Swindon Fringe. It presents national and world premieres, multi-award-winning films and youth projects, ranging from two hours in length down to just 60 seconds.
Each individual session consists of a mix of independent offerings from both local and international filmmakers. There are a wide variety of genres on show, ranging from comedies, drama and animation to youth and student material.
This includes 20 films produced by those aged 18 and under from all over the world. The sponsors of the Young Filmmaker Award are PQATV.com and the PQACADEMY.com, with current Pauline Quirke Academy students who are aged 6 to 18 eligible to submit their work.
The festival is usually located on the Balcony of the MECA Music Entertainment and Cultural Arena. Alongside film screenings, there will be additional events on offer, such as question and answer sessions and networking opportunities. When attending events like this, those professionally involved in the industry could consider bringing along some Business Cards.
The Swindon Independent Film Festival will take place between 5th and 9th July at various venues across Swindon. Tickets cost £3, and a no-refund policy is in operation.
