Swindon stands up for laughter

Irish comedian Jimeoin's "Turn it Up" Tour is due to arrive in Swindon towards the end of February.

He left his native Portstewart in Northern Ireland to settle in Australia more than 10 years ago. His brand of observation comedy and occasionally surreal take on humour ultimately led him to perform to sell-out audiences right across Oz.

Jimeoin has also entertained audiences in the UK, the USA and Europe. This he combines with appearances on popular TV shows such as 'Live at the Apollo', 'Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow' and 'Sunday Night at the Palladium'.

The award-winning comedian is a regular at comedy festivals notably 'The Melbourne International Comedy Festival', Montreal's 'Just For Laughs' and Edinburgh's Fringe. He previously wrote and starred in his debut feature film "The Craic", which was followed up by a romantic comedy called 'The Extra'.

His DVD releases include 'Jimeoin On Ice' and 'Something Smells Funny and 'What'. It was The Scotsman' that described his stage act as: 'Classic nonsense... stand-up comedy at its best’. Whilst 'The Independent' has said of him: 'Comedy of the highest order... Inspired ramblings'.

Tickets cost £21.85 inclusive of the booking fee. Banner printing can be an effective way of promoting a stand-up comedy show.

Jimeoin's 'Turn it Up' gig has a starting time of 7.30pm on Saturday 19th February at The Wyvern Theatre, Swindon.
