Swindon set for Latin tribute show

Oye Santana: The Woodstock 50th Anniversary Tour is due to arrive in Swindon towards the end of May.

This stage show presents the Latin dance rhythms of Carlos Santana and definitely has more of a party atmosphere than a concert feel. His music embodies a distinctive combination of Samba, Smooth Latin ballads, Bossa Novas and Latino rock.

Oye Santana will play all of the well-known and popular hits. These include the Grammy Award-Winning Smooth, a multimillion record seller, but also Maria Maria, Black Magic Woman, Oye Como Va and Corazon Espinado.

The six-piece band has in its ranks a “Carlos Santana”, who appears and sounds very much like the original as well as vocalists singing in both English and Spanish. Their electric and Spanish guitar songs fuse well with the authentic percussion and professional keyboards.

The show celebrates five decades since Santana performed at Woodstock which elevated him to popularity. It will present half a century full of musical memories for many people and indeed in 2018 was successful at the UK's National Tribute Music Awards.
