The owner of the centre, British Land, has stated that the makeover plans will ensure that it provides residents of the town with an ultra-modern and high-quality retail experience.
There are currently 15 major stores within the Orbital Centre, including Next and Asda, and it is utilised both by those living in Swindon and people from the wider district.
The revamp will concentrate on bettering public access, as well as shopping experiences, through providing more crossings and improving the car and pedestrian flow.
There will also be additional street furniture for the public areas and new toilets featuring changing room facilities. However, the biggest improvement is set to be the building of a centre for customer service, with a number of cash machines inbound.
James Honeyman, from British Land, told the Swindon Advertiser:
“These plans demonstrate our continued investment in Swindon which will release the park’s full potential. We are committed to enhancing Orbital Shopping Park so that spending time here is an even better experience for our customers.”
The company will be able to use poster printing in Swindon to advertise the improvements to residents, should the plans get the go-ahead from the borough council.Get a Free Quote for Plans
