Swindon could be set to get a brand new mixed use retail park as news breaks that a stretch of land to the east of the town has been bought with this aim in mind.
The RO Group has acquired a stretch of land not far from the White Hart Roundabout in Swindon. This land covers a total of 9.7 acres and the company is keen to develop it. It has put forward Plans for a park that would combine storage, logistics, industrial and roadside retail facilities and is stating that this would create many employment opportunities.
The development the RO Group is using as its guideline for this planned project is Solstice Park. This is a retail park that it owns and runs at Amesbury and that is home to businesses such as Holiday Inn, Asda, Pizza Hut and McDonald’s.
If the proposed park in Swindon gets the nod, any companies that base themselves there would find useful resources close to hand. Brochure printing is often used to sell the benefits of taking up spaces in parks like these.
The chosen site for the project has more than 22,500 vehicles go past it regularly, and the RO Group points out that this makes it perfect for both retail and business use.
It has suggested that the success of the Amesbury facility can be repeated in Swindon to the benefit of the town.
