Swindon man to land debut art exhibition

A man from Swindon who suffers from chronic pain has landed the chance to display the art he uses as therapy.

Jeff Finnie opted to become an artist when he received a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. He was already dealing with other health problems and the combination of them made it impossible for him to continue working. Creating art is how he found fresh purpose after that blow, and now people will have the chance to view the fruits of his labours.

Speaking to the Swindon Advertiser, he said that he had prostatitis alongside his fibromyalgia, which left him in pain all the time. He then went on to add:
“But I’m determined to not let it beat me, as I was so determined my IBS wouldn’t beat me when I was running marathons.”

His exhibition will be held at Swindon Hub, which is in The Parade. When local venues are hosting events like art shows, they usually need to promote them. Flyer printing by shops in Swindon can be a good way of doing that.

In the past, Finnie devoted a lot of time to running marathons and raising money for charity. However, since turning to art, he says he has been greeted warmly by the artistic community in the town.

His solo exhibition is due to be held throughout the opening week in December, including an open afternoon.
