Swindon Half Marathon to make its return

Residents of Swindon now have the motivation to get themselves in shape over the next few months, with the news that the Half Marathon will be returning to the town.

This event was an annual one for a number of years, but it has not taken place now since 2019. The year after that, it was cancelled because of the pandemic, and in 2021, it was scrapped at the last minute.

There were hopes that it could return in 2022, but that did not happen – largely due to a combination of fewer entrants and increased costs.

Now, it is finally coming back, with RunThrough set to be in charge of organising it. This company specialises in managing sporting events and it has been discussing bringing the Half Marathon back with Swindon Borough Council since the start of the year.

There are numerous ways in which the organisers of local events like this one can spread the word. One of the options available is ordering promotional Pens from Swindon shops that have the name of the event on them.

The route for the 2025 Half Marathon will see competitors run through the whole of the town and much of the countryside around it. The entrance fee has been set at £34.

The Swindon Half Marathon for 2025 is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 28 September.
