The Second South West Highway Alliance Conference and Exhibition: "The Highway to Zero Carbon", organised by Landor Links. is due to be held in Swindon at the beginning of February.
This one-day event focuses on the part played by the sector in the delivery of Local Authority Highway carbon neutral targets. The primary audience here is senior people from state, private and mixed enterprises.
It endeavours to encourage debate on what is currently an important topic for those engaged in highways industries. More than 100 local officials, engineers, consultants and manufacturers will be in attendance from all over the region and beyond, sharing their wisdom and experiences.
The itinerary features prominent individuals from both the governmental and commercial world. It examines the success so far in meeting the UK's carbon targets, and the problems that may be faced in the future. Pilot reports such as DfT/ADEPT's Live Labs and relevant case studies will also be presented, and a policy debate will be held on driving change.
Tickets are free to both public and local authority employees while interested others can buy them online. Corporate Gifts often act as an effective means of promoting an environmental cause or a business activity.
The conference will take place from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm on Wednesday, February 10, at STEAM, the GWR Museum, Swindon.
